GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) announced Tuesday that two access areas closed by Helene damage have reopened.
The Poplar Springs Access Area and Joe Johnson Access Area at Bird's Bridge, both severely impacted by flooding of the Nolichucky River, are now open for public use, according to the TWRA.
Officials ask boaters and anglers to exercise caution when navigating waters affected by Helene.
The Rankin Access Area on the French Broad River remains closed, with reopening anticipated in spring 2025.
Hurricane Helene, which hit the region in late September, caused widespread damage across parts of East Tennessee.
