WHITE PINE, Tenn. — A 5-year-old has died after going into cardiac arrest in White Pine, according to the White Pine Police Department.
WPPD said at 2:36 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to Harrison Road in response to a cardiac arrest of a 5-year-old child with disabilities. White Pine said it arrived at the scene within two minutes to find the child dead.
WPPD said investigators have been on the scene, with this now being an ongoing investigation. The police department said the child has been sent to the forensic center in Knoxville for an autopsy and one person has been arrested from the scene for a charge not related to the death.
