PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — The Leconte Hotel and Convention Center was briefly evacuated this afternoon for a small fire, according to the Pigeon Forge Fire Department.
According to Chief Tony Watson, it started at around 3:30 p.m. The fire came from a heat and air unit on the fourth floor, Watson said. A Pigeon Forge police officer was driving by and saw it and called it in before 911 got a call.
As of 5:27 p.m., everyone was let back into the hotel.
The Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Sevier County and Walden's Creek fire departments helped put out the fire.
