KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A woman was pronounced dead Tuesday morning after a single-car crash on Pellissippi Parkway, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
KPD officers responded to I-140 East near Northshore Drive where a witness reported that a car had flipped off the road. Once officers arrived on the scene, KPD said they found a car upside down and next to a tree. The driver of the car was then pronounced dead.
It was reported the car lost control for reasons that remain under investigation and veered off the road, according to KPD.
The crash is being investigated by KPD Crash Reconstruction Personnel. The victim's identity is being withheld at this time.
