Overnight fire destroys Sevierville restaurant

Several firefighting agencies were called to help put out a fire at Fat Tony's roadhouse on Wednesday morning.

Despite the efforts of several East Tennessee agencies, an overnight fire destroyed a Sevier County restaurant.

Sevier County dispatchers said firefighters arrived at Fat Tony’s Roadhouse around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Tony and Dawn Stover, the restaurant owners, released the following statement Wednesday:

“While we are devastated at the loss of our restaurant, Fat Tony’s Roadhouse, we are relieved that no one was hurt in this tragic event. At this time we are working to make sure our employees are taken care of. We will keep all our great customers up-to-date about our next steps on our Facebook page. The folks of Sevierville have supported our restaurant from day one, and we sincerely appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we consider our future.”

Fire crews were able to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby buildings.

There were no reported injuries. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

Firefighters are monitoring flames they can’t reach right now, and most fire crews have left the scene.
