KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — The Knox County Sheriff's Office is taking part in a controversial live documentary series this weekend.
In a press release, the sheriff's office said it will take part in the filming of On Patrol: Live Friday and Saturday night from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. on REELZ.
“The Knox County Sheriff’s Office looks forward to riding with On Patrol: Live. This will give people an inside look into the tough job our men and women do daily here in Knox County," said Sheriff Tom Spangler. "We are blessed with a great group of professionals who have dedicated their lives to public service.”
The show is hosted and executive producer by Dan Abrams. Abrams and a panel of experts provide minute-by-minute live analysis of police officers' interaction with the public.
The announcement comes just a day after REELZ resolved a lawsuit with A&E, who claimed REELZ copied the network's former show "Live PD," according to a New York federal court filing.
A&E sent the judge a letter Thursday saying the two networks "reached a resolution" and planned to dismiss the case.
Live PD was canceled in 2020 following protests against police brutality following the murder of George Floyd.
