BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — UPDATE (4/2): The Old Walland Highway will be closed between Cameron Road and Lovers Lane due to a rekindling of a brush fire Tuesday morning, according to the Blount County Sheriff's Office.
As of 11:07 a.m., the brush fire is almost 21 acres in size, according to the Tennessee Department of Forestry.
Officials are asking you to find an alternate route if you are traveling in that area. They are also asking that you not drive around the barricades.

The Townsend Volunteer Fire Department said crews were working to put out a brush fire Monday afternoon. The brush fire was around 21 acres large and up to 13 structures were threatened near Old Walland Road as of around 11:20 p.m., according to the Townsend Volunteer Fire Department.
Don Stallions, the fire chief for the area, also said crews were protecting two structures from the fire. The Tennessee Division of Forestry said Monday afternoon that 23 people were responding to the fire, and it was 80% contained. At least four departments were responding to the fire.
The Blount County Sheriff's Office said part of Old Walland Highway, between Walnut Loop and The Sunshine Bridge, would be shut down Monday afternoon due to the fire.
