Police IDs man killed in Clinton accident

Police identified the man killed in a fatal two-car crash in Clinton Friday morning.
A crash in Anderson County killed one person Friday morning.

Update 12:00 p.m.

(WBIR-Clinton) Police identified a man killed in a fatal two-car crash in Clinton Friday morning.

According to police, Christopher Struck, 32, of Oneida died after his car was t-boned by another vehicle at about 7 a.m. on N. Charles G. Seivers Boulevard at the ramp of I-75 N.

Crews drove the driver of the other vehicle to UT Medical Center for treatment.

A reconstruction team is still investigating, but have reopened the ramp.

Initial information indicates that the vehicle, in which Strunk was a passenger, was t-boned by another car, around 7am, on N. Charles G. Seivers Blvd at the north bound entrance to I-75. The driver was taken to U.T. Medical Center for treatment.

"At this point, it's too early to release additional information regarding any charges that may, or may not be filed," Clinton Police Chief Rick Scarbrough said in a release.


Update 9:03 a.m.

A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of one person Friday morning in Clinton.

The accident happened at about 7 a.m. near the intersection of Andersonville Hwy. and the ramp to I-75 N.

Crews closed the ramp to I-75 to reconstruct the accident, and authorities expect to reopen the ramp at about 10 a.m.

Clinton police aren't releasing much information at this time.
