OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — 201 Cafe and Wine Bar in Oak Ridge is hitting the silver screen soon. The cafe was featured in a few scenes for a short film called "Someday", it's being directed by local filmmaker Taryn Grace.
"A young lady named Taryn Grace reached out to me and said they were doing a short film and could they come here and shoot some of the scenes for the film here, and I told her yeah it'd be fun," said Beau James, Owner of 201 Cafe.
The short film shot multiple scenes at the cafe and even used customers as extras in the film.
"We were open, we invited some of the regular customers to come in and be extras and stuff and it was a lot of fun," said James.
The film will debut at multiple film festivals in Tennessee and will also be at other festivals across the country, and the restaurant couldn't be more excited about the opportunity to be featured.
"We were honored that they chose us to shoot here. I hope the film does well and you know if it lets some people know about us, you know, that's fine too," said James.
And, although the film brings a lot of exposure to 201 Cafe, James hopes that it'll benefit the community as well.
"Oak Ridge is a hidden gem for sure, we try to support our community. Anything that helps us and helps the community, I think that's a win-win," said James.
