CLINTON, Tenn. — The Clinton High School softball team has had a few setbacks on its new complex. Now they're getting back into the swing of things. As a result of setbacks including a legal battle and a complete redo of the field, costs of the new building have gone up.
"I think Dr. Parrott feels confident it should get done before the season starts," said Tracy Wandell the Anderson County District 1 Commissioner. "It needed to be moved back a little bit, back towards the school, I think the neighbor had problems with the lights. So they've addressed all those issues."
He has worked closely on the project, helping make sure the team has a new place to play. While it now has a field, the area still lacks a concessions stand and a locker room.
"The price has definitely increased, especially after all of COVID and stuff all the pricing of the materials and everything has gone up," said Wandell.
Leaders hope that softball players will enjoy the new field for years to come. Anyone who wants to donate to the development can reach out to the Anderson County School Board, at 865-463-2800.
