BRISTOL, Tenn. — Anyone looking for a chance to help East Tennessee communities recover from Hurricane Helene will have several opportunities throughout November at the Northeast Tennessee Disaster Relief Center.

The center is located at Bristol Motor Speedway and is a centralized location where agencies can collect, organize and distribute resources and services. The center said it needed several volunteers throughout November.

From Nov. 5 to Nov. 9, it needed volunteers who could pick and pack boxes for Veterans Day care kit packages. It was also looking for volunteers who could help with its call center. Shifts for both are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Similar shifts were also available between Nov. 12 and Nov. 16. However, warehouse volunteers would work to organize, sort and pack children's care kits instead of ones for Veterans Day.

The warehouse shifts available between Nov. 18 and Nov. 23 would be to prepare Thanksgiving kits. The following week, volunteers will prepare winter weather care kits.

Anyone interested in volunteering at the relief center can sign up online, through the Volunteer United website.
