DANDRIDGE, Tenn. — According to a social media post from the Dandridge Fire Department, crews were dispatched to Douglas Lake near Sunbeam Lane for a reported boat fire.
Dandridge Fire also said there was a "possible explosion" with no injuries reported.
"The owner attempted to put the fire out. Deployed a fire extinguisher. Didn’t put out the fire and he exited the boat," TWRA said. "It was against shore so we pulled it out to open water to prevent the spread of fire to the cedar thicket on land”
The boat was towed out to open water where it burned out until it sank, according to the TWRA.
More information such as the cause of the fire is not currently available. This story will be updated when more information is available.
