(WBIR) Authorities in Claiborne County said an experimental aircraft crashed Sunday morning before taking off at the New Tazewell Municipal Airport.
According to a Claiborne County spokesperson, the single-engine single-passenger plane experienced problems while taxiing around 10 a.m. and went off the runway and crashed into a retaining wall.
Authorities said the pilot wasn't hurt.
Officials contacted the FAA and NTSB, but they determined no additional investigation is needed.
The aircraft has been returned to the owner.
