Newfound Gap Road (Highway 441) closed Wednesday morning while crews cleared trees.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park tweeted about the closure at 7:12 a.m. Officials said the park will make another Twitter post when the road is re-opened.

In the meantime, drivers can use the Gatlinburg Bypass to avoid the closure.
