KUB crews repair damages on natural gas line on UT campus

UT's Facilities Services said the main gas was damaged at the intersection of Pat Head Summitt Street and Chamique Holdsclaw Drive.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE (1:32 p.m.): The University of Tennessee's Facilities Services said the Knoxville Utilities Board has finished repairs Wednesday afternoon.

KUB told 10News that a third-party contractor dug into an underground natural gas line near the intersection of Pat Head Summit Street and Todd Helton Drive on campus. 

UTFS said all-natural gas should be restored.

The University of Tennessee's Facilities Services said in a social media post that a natural gas main has been damaged.

They said the main gas was damaged at the intersection of Pat Head Summitt Street and Chamique Holdsclaw Drive. The Knoxville Utilities Board has been notified and is on-site to repair the damage, according to UT Facilities Services.

They also said to be aware there may be a noticeable gas odor in the area.
