BRISTOL, Tenn. — Hot rods will return to Bristol over the weekend for a competition that will last from June 7 through June 9.

The National Hot Rod Association will return to the Bristol Motor Speedway for the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. The drag racing competition promises exciting matchups, serving as the eighth of 20 races during the drag racing series season. Events are scheduled to go on every day of the weekend, ranging from factory stock showdowns to pro mod races.

Justin Ashley, the 2020 NHRA Rookie of the Year, has had some good luck in Bristol — winning back-to-back events.

"This sport is so tough, it humbles you really quickly and it can change race-to-race or even day-to-day. It's been a really good career and I feel very blessed to have that career so far but definitely have a long way to go," he said.
