KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Two Wrecks and a small section of a hill falling into a roadway have been reported after heavy rain swept through Knox County on Thursday.
A multi-vehicle wreck on I-40 East at Mile Marker 1 has blocked multiple lanes with traffic now having to pass on the shoulder of the road, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
A second Multi-vehicle wreck was reported on I-40 near West Hills, according to TDOT, with all lanes back open as of 4:14 p.m.
The Knoxville Police Department also took to social media after the rain, asking those on East Red Bud Road to express caution due to a section of hill falling into the roadway.
"A large section of hill has collapsed onto a northbound lane of Chapman Highway at East Red Bud Road," KPD said.
