KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A motorcyclist was killed after a wreck on Middlebrook Pike Tuesday, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
Officers responded to the crash near Whitehall Road around 7:40 p.m. Based on witness statements and an investigation, it's believed the motorcycle was traveling fast when it collided with the passenger side of a sedan, according to KPD.
The motorcyclist, a 53-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, KPD said.
The police department said it's still investigating.
