KPD: Motorcyclist killed after crashing into telephone pole on West Martin Mill Pike

KPD officers have been dismissed from a lawsuit filed over a man's 2022 drowning.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said a man is dead after a motorcycle crash in South Knoxville Monday afternoon.

At around 5:45 p.m., KPD responded to the 3600 block of West Martin Mill Pike near Chapman Highway. After arriving on the scene, they found that a motorcycle had crashed into a telephone pole.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

KPD believes that the motorcycle veered off the road and struck the pole, ejecting the driver.

KPD crash reconstruction is leading the investigation.
