KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Former Major League Baseball player and Knoxville native Todd Helton will serve as the grand marshal in the University of Tennessee homecoming parade.
Helton is a 2024 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee. He was a stand out hitter and pitcher for the Vols and set numerous records during his time. He was drafted in the first round by the Colorado Rockies, where he spent his entire 17-year career.
The annual parade takes place Friday, Nov. 8. It starts on Volunteer Boulevard across from Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium. The parade will head north toward Circle Park, where judging will take place and end down Peyton Manning Pass.
The university says the theme is 'Neyland Night Lights,' to capture the energy of being under the Neyland Stadium lights. More than 30 events are planned on campus leading up to the Vols Saturday night game against Mississippi State University.
