Mission of Hope, the faith-based organization, once again delivered on its promise to children in rural Appalachia.
Christmas can be a tough time for many families in rural Appalachia, but Mission of Hope is there to help ease the burden.
"We want these children to know they are loved, and more importantly, we want them to know God loves them," said Emmette Thompson, executive director of Mission of Hope.
With donations from East Tennesseans, Mission of Hope once again provided Christmas to over 16,000 children in rural Appalachia, including boys and girls at Hancock Elementary.
"Some of these children would not have Christmas if it weren't for organizations like this," says Brian Greene, the school's principal.
Each child is able to pick out two presents and receives a gift bag of hygiene items.
There's also a chance for children to pick out something for their siblings who aren't in school yet.
"We could never thank people enough for deeming us worthy of their support," says Thompson.
10News would also like to thank all of those who helped in Mission of Hope's Blue Barrel Christmas Campaign.
