MARYVILLE, Tenn. — A couple who were both deployed to Afghanistan and saw combat moved into a new Maryville home on Tuesday. The home is effectively provided by the Freedom Alliance, given to the couple mortgage-free.

The Freedom Alliance is a Virginia-based nonprofit that aims to "advance the American heritage of freedom by honoring and encouraging military service." It provided the new home to Jeremy Taylor and Timea Taylor, giving them a place to live and raise their daughter.

Jeremy was wounded by a grenade two separate times and had been involved in several firefights during his 18-month service.

"Jeremy enlisted at the age of 17, at a time when America was already at war with Afghanistan and Iraq. He put his life on the line at 17 years old. He made the decision he wanted to serve his country," said Tom Kilgannon, the president of the Freedom Alliance.

Timea enlisted at 25 years old and was deployed to Afghanistan. There, she served as a cable systems installer and a logistics specialist.
