KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The board of directors of the YMCA of East Tennessee announced Tuesday that Matt Ryerson has been named its new CEO. He is expected to take on the role on Jan. 1, 2025.
Ryerson will follow Jim Dickson who has been the YMCA CEO for 24 years.
“We are very excited to have Matt as the new leader of our great YMCA,” Dickson said. “We conducted an extensive, national search process and chose Matt for his proven success in strategic leadership, community engagement, and fundraising.”
This announcement comes after Ryerson stepped down as United Way of Greater Knoxville's CEO and president. He served as CEO of United Way for five years.
Ryerson has 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, including some time with the YMCA early in his career.
