MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Anyone who needs a safe and warm place to sleep in Blount County will be able to stop by a Maryville church Friday evening.
The United Way of Blount County said that First Baptist Church of Maryville would open its doors at 7 p.m. on Nov. 29 — when the temperature is expected to drop below freezing. The church is offering a safe place to sleep, helping people get out of the cold weather.
The church is located at 202 west Lamar Alexander Parkway in Maryville. It has opened warming shelters in the past, helping people get through bitterly cold winters.
