BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — Two people have been arrested on drug charges in Blount County.
According to the Blount County Sheriff's Office, law enforcement agencies were called to a home on Colonial Circle in Maryville to execute a search warrant pertaining to alleged drug activity.
Sheriff Lee Berrong said members of the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force, and other law enforcement agencies, arrested Courtney Ann Thomas and Michael Chase Fraize Wednesday morning.
Thomas is charged with maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used or sold.
Fraize is charged with maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used or sold, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to resell (methamphetamine), and criminal attempt to possess a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to resell (cocaine).
Fraize was also cited with simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana), police set.
Court dates and bond haven't been set for the pair. BSCO said the BSCO SWAT was part of the search and more than an ounce of methamphetamine, powder cocaine, marijuana and a handgun were confiscated at the scene.
More charges could be on the way.
The Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force is comprised of deputies and officers with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Maryville Police Department, Alcoa Police Department, and the Blount County Office of the Attorney General.
