Blount County Sheriff's Office investigates 'incident' at haunted house

The incident happened over the weekend in Maryville.

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — The Blount County Sheriff's Office said it's investigating an incident that occurred at a haunted house in Maryville over the weekend.

AMS Haunted Attractions - AMS Entertainment LLC, the company behind the attraction on E. Lamar Alexander Parkway, posted about the incident on social media Monday morning.

The post said the group is working closely with authorities after a customer allegedly assaulted several people who work for the attraction. The company said it was working to "bring the individual who did this to justice, and ensure he is prosecuted to the fullest extent possible."

"The safety of our Actors, Staff and Guests is our number one priority and we take every measure we can to ensure that we are promoting a safe and fun environment for all to enjoy," the attraction said, in part, in the statement on Facebook.

The statement also said the haunted attraction plans to provide additional security and training for workers.

"To the individual who attacked our kid actors please know we will not rest until you are brought to justice," the statement said.
