BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — A ride to honor and remember Blount County Deputy Greg McCowan has been set for Sunday, Feb. 25 at Pellissippi State Community College in Blount County.
At 10 a.m., the event will begin with the staging of three main groups: motorcycles/3-wheelers, Jeeps and other vehicles.
There will be a table set up to collect donations for McCowan and a separate table for Deputy Shelby Eggers.
At noon, there will be a short program with remarks, a discussion of the ride, a prayer and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The start of the ride will be at 1 p.m.
Memorial Ride Route:
- Down 321 into downtown past the Justice Center
- Turning right on Tuckaleechee Pike down and beside Grandview Cemetery by Deputy McCowan's resting place
- Down Waters Road to end the ride at the American Legion Post 13
Coffee will be provided by Fred's Roast - A Tennessee Coffee Company.
