MARYVILLE, Tenn. — A mural in downtown Maryville should be complete by the end of the week.

According to Blount Partnership, the piece of art on the former Exitech building at the corners of West Broadway Avenue and North Cusick Street should be finished on June 22.

Artists Will Lunsford, Pinkie Mistry and Chuck Finley are working on the mural and the plan is to highlight the beauty of the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Blount County.

Work on the mural started on June 18.

The Blount Partnership said in a release that downtown murals aren't just decorative, they're also a way to enhance the environment and foster community pride.
