MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Maryville's animal shelter is planning a move down the street over the next few months.
Maryville Police oversee the shelter. Last fall, the department bought a piece of property down the street from the current shelter location.
They've been working on renovation and are now working to make sure it has all the equipment it needs.
Maryville Police said there are several benefits to the new space.
"It'll be a larger area with better parking, space to expand if the need arises we'll be able to do that," said Tony Crisp, chief of Maryville Police.
The department said the shelter will most likely open in its new location this fall.
