Luxury camping is now on the long list of things to do while visiting Gatlinburg.
That's according to the company Under Canvas, which will bring safari-inspired tents close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in a 182-acre camp.
Under Canvas Smoky Mountains said it's opening is set for Sept. 20. People can begin reserving their stays online.
There are currently eight options to choose from, with all of them including beds, chairs and furniture within canvas tents.
The property has 40 canvas tents scattered about. The company hopes to grow that number to 75 by 2019.
Amenities include daily housekeeping, king size beds, portable chargers, wood-burning stoves for warmth, wooden deck patios as well as in-tent bathrooms and showers.
Select tents will be outfitted with items from the new Under Canvas home collection including, lumbar pillows, blankets, dog beds, eye masks and robes. The new canvas collection is 100 percent organic U.S. grown cotton and handmade in the USA, according to a release from the company.
Under Canvas offers activities that include access to undiscovered areas through expertly guided excursions, a ziplining and whitewater rafting adventures near the Nantahala River and even a relaxing in-tent massage.
In April, the Little Arrow Outdoor Resort in Townsend opened its doors as well for a "glamping" experience. That campground includes tiny homes on its site.
