Loudon Co. Sheriff's Office announces upcoming app to connect with community

People can use the app to view messages from the sheriff, find inmate information, submit tips about crimes and learn more about the sheriff's office's functions.

LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Loudon County community will soon have a new app they can use to connect with the Loudon County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office posted about the new app on social media, saying it would be available to download soon. The app is being developed by The Sheriff App, a national company that makes apps for law enforcement agencies, public safety agencies, emergency management agencies and public health agencies.

LCSO said people will be able to use the app to read messages from the sheriff or to learn about the sheriff's office's different functions. It will also provide jail and inmate information, and give people the chance to submit tips about crimes.

People will also be able to use the app to find upcoming events or read news releases from the sheriff's office.

"The app will serve as an innovative way for the Sheriff’s Office to connect with Loudon County residents and visitors, providing information quickly and efficiently to anyone with a smartphone," LCSO said on social media.

It will be available on the Apple App Store and on the Google Play Store, according to the sheriff's office. The neighboring Blount County Sheriff's Office previously announced in November that a similar app was already available for its county, also developed by The Sheriff App.
