Loudon County authorities boarded up a house Tuesday near downtown Loudon after police had responded to it numerous times for various crimes over the period of a few months.
According to the Loudon County Police Department, officers responded to 25 calls to the home at 620 Church Street since April 2018. The calls included stabbings, drugs, warrants, fights, assaults, theft and other criminal activity.
The home has been subject to an ongoing investigation conducted by the 9th Judicial Drug Task Force.
Russell Johnson, the District Attorney General from the 9th Judicial District, said the order was given utilizing the state nuisance law.
“It really is the essence of what it means to be a nuisance. A nuisance to this neighborhood on Church Street and the Loudon community as a whole," Johnson said.
The owner of the property was told by law enforcement on several occasions to stop illegal activity occurring at the residence on a daily basis. The DTF said the owner did not comply and no measures were taken to correct the issues.
The DAG also recently boarded up a house in Lenoir City, bringing criminal charges against the home owner.
