TOWNSEND — If you love the outdoors but hate pitching a tent, "glamping" may be exactly what you have been looking for.
The Little Arrow Outdoor Resort in Townsend will soon open with nine "tiny homes" that bring the comforts of home to the great outdoors.
"Glamping is being outdoors and enjoying the outdoors with your family and your friends but having all the comforts of home, plus a little extra," said Carmen Simpher, one of the owners of the Little Arrow Outdoor Resort. "You have air conditioning, you have a bed, you’re very comfortable."
The campground is taking glamour to a whole new level, meshing nature with a nice hotel.
Nine "tiny homes" will soon dot the hillside at the resort, each big enough to sleep four people. They are fitted with beds, a full kitchen, wi-fi, a bathroom, and even a fireplace.
The homes will run around $180 per night when they open.
"This is the best of both worlds. You can be comfortable, a little luxurious, we have all the comforts you could want in any five star hotel," said Simpher. "You’re not roughing it in these!"
The campground is the brainchild of Simpher and her family. Kevin Clayton, her brother in-law and the CEO of Clayton homes, co-owns the property. The tiny homes are built by Clayton homes and are a new endeavor for the company.
Luxury tents will neighbor the homes, all open to visitors.
The resort will have its grand-opening on April 28.
