LONDON, Ky. — The London Police Department said one person died and eight people were hurt after a wreck in Laurel County.
The three-vehicle wreck happened on Sunday, June 30, on KY-192. The wreck involved a Ford pickup truck, a Nissan minivan and a GMC SUV, according to LPD.
The Ford pickup was traveling westbound on KY-192 when it struck the back of the Nissan, causing it to veer into the eastbound lane and collide head-on with the GMC, LPD said.
The Nissan driver, 56-year-old Phyllis Darlene Hale, died. The passenger, 56-year-old Gary Hale, suffered severe injuries, according to LPD.
Two adults and five juveniles in the GMC sustained injuries. The Ford driver was not hurt, LPD said.
Officials are continuing their investigation into the cause of the wreck, according to LPD.
