Lenoir City breaks ground on new training center for officers, firefighters

The building is named in honor of Lenoir City Police Chief Don White who is the longest-serving chief in city history.

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — Lenoir City police officers and firefighters will soon have a new training center. The city broke ground on the Don W. White Training Center on Thursday morning.

The Lenoir City Mayor Tony Aikens said, now, fire and police personnel have to leave the city for training. With the new building, they will be able to train within the city.

"It's time that we go the extra mile and we were able to secure some COVID funds thanks to the commissioner who helped push that through," Aikens said.

The building is named in honor of Lenoir City Police Chief Don White. He is the longest-serving chief in city history.
