LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — A man was taken into custody Monday morning after Loudon County officials were searching for him in the Highland Park Drive area.
The Loudon County Sheriff's Office and the Lenoir City Police Department were initially searching for Caiden Hall. At the time, Hall was considered armed and dangerous. While officials were searching for Hall, Highland Park Elementary was put on lockdown.
In a release, authorities said the police department got a call about a suspicious man at a grocery store on Highway 321 and Highland Pak Drive. While dispatchers got information from the caller, authorities said they also started getting calls about the same person running down Highland Park Drive after people heard gunshots and screaming.
Several law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene soon after, the sheriff's office said. They set up a perimeter and the sheriff's office started searching the area using a drone.
Authorities said Hall and his girlfriend had got into an argument before it escalated. In a release, they said Hall ran to his home and got a gun, before going back outside and firing into the air. It said he then ran into the woods.
A short while later, authorities said Hall came out of the woods and was seen on the drone. He was then taken into custody, they said. They also found the gun in the woods. Hall was charged with reckless endangerment and taken to the Loudon County Detention Facility.
