Multiple law enforcement agencies drive by East Tennessee Children's Hospital for annual 'Shine our Lights' event

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The annual "Shine our Lights" was Monday, when numerous law enforcement agencies in the area stopped by the East Tennessee Children's Hospital to shine red and blue lights so patients there could see them.

The University of Tennessee Police Department shared images of the event on Facebook, saying it was honored to be able to participate in the event. The department also thanked the children for the courage and hope they brought. 

"Thank you all for the warm wishes, sweet smiles, and the kind waves!" the department said. 

The agencies involved in the event included: 

  • Knoxville Police Department 
  • Knoxville Fire Department 
  • Knox County Sheriff's Office 
  • Tennessee Highway Patrol 
  • Pigeon Forge Police Department 

"It was an honor and privilege to bring a little joy to the brave children at ETCH and their families this holiday season," KPD said.
