Candace Parker received a huge honor this week, and she made sure Coach was there with her to help her celebrate.
Parker was honored as one of the 2020 SEC Legends at the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament in Greeneville, South Carolina. The honor showcases former student-athletes and coaches from all 14 SEC schools.
As she received the award on the court Thursday night, she made sure to wear her Lady Vols best: an orange jacket, and a shirt emblazoned with legendary Lady Vols Coach Pat Summitt.
"This is the first SEC tournament I've been here without coach. I think she prepared myself and all my teammates, not only for big basketball tournaments like this, but for life," she said.
It's been nearly four years since Pat Summitt passed away following her battle with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Her legacy still burns bright, and Candace has been there to ensure her message of chasing passion and people continues to spread.
