KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A North Knoxville restaurant, La Herradura, as well as a South Knoxville restaurant, Thai Time, both reopened on Tuesday after two different car wrecks temporarily shut them down.
The La Herradura wreck happened on May 5, hitting one employee in the store with debris.
The 25-year-old driver, Baleigh Bates, was believed to be severely intoxicated, the Knoxville Police Department said. She was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of the accident "among other charges."
The Thai time wreck occurred on April 21 when a car attempted to flee from a Knox County Sheriff's Office deputy. James Maiden attempted to make a left turn onto Lindy Drive, but lost control of his vehicle and hit a fire hydrant and the Thai Time Restaurant, a report said.
After both restaurants closed due to two separate car crashes, they reopened on the same day — May 14.
