A Kentucky man was being treated Monday after falling into Cherokee Lake this weekend while fishing, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
Danny Mullins, 58, of Hazard, Ky., was on the back of a boat Saturday afternoon near the Hamblen Dock when he fell, according to TWRA.
"His fishing partner was able to reach him with one arm and use the boat‘s trolling motor to navigate to the bank where he and another bystander performed CPR," according to the TWRA's Matt Cameron.
The circumstances that led to him falling into the water weren't clear Monday.
Mullins went first to Morristown Hamblen Hospital and then was transported to Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. Cameron said Monday he was in critical condition.
"It’s not clear at this time if the inflatable personal flotation device that he was wearing deployed or not," Cameron told WBIR.
