KNOXVILLE, Tenn — A man was struck and killed early Monday by a vehicle while crossing Western Avenue on Nov. 20, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
On Nov. 27, KPD identified the pedestrian victim as Curtis Lawrence, 72, from Knoxville.
A Nissan SUV was heading west on Western when the vehicle hit the male near Middlebrook Pike, according to KPD spokesman Scott Erland. Police were alerted about 6 a.m.
The pedestrian was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he died.
The Nissan driver stayed on the scene and talked to the police.
KPD's investigation is ongoing.
