KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE (3/18): The Knoxville Police Department said a fourth juvenile male was arrested Monday morning in connection to a shots fired incident near West Town Mall.
The 14-year-old had a backpack that officers found at the scene, which had marijuana and a stolen gun in it, according to KPD.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
According to KPD, officers heard shots coming from the south of the mall on Saturday around 8:45 p.m. Police said three of the teens they initially detained were seen running through the parking lot of the JCPenny.
Officers said they found shell casings on Gleason Drive near the mall.

UPDATE (3/17): The Knoxville Police Department said three juvenile males were arrested Saturday night, following police response to reports of shots fired near West Town Mall.
One of the juveniles, a 15-year-old, had a loaded handgun that was reported stolen and marijuana, KPD said. The other two were captured on foot.
A 16-year-old was found with a loaded handgun and "suspected burglary tools." The third juvenile, another 16-year-old, was charged with evading arrest.
At this time, KPD said additional charges for the other individuals at the scene are "possibly pending."
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the "immediate area" of West Town Mall at around 8:45 p.m., the Knoxville Police Department said.
KPD said that based on evidence at the scene, it appears that shots were fired on Gleason Drive close to Belk, but as of now, there are no gunshot victims. Several individuals were detained by responding officers pending an ongoing investigation.
