KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Update (4/18): The Knoxville Police Department said a motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Asheville Highway Wednesday night.
KPD has identified the motorcyclist as 31-year-old Bradley Evans from Maryville.
Officers responded to the crash involving a motorcycle and a Kia SUV in the 6400 block of Asheville Highway near Rich Road around 10:15 p.m. The motorcycle driver, an adult man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to KPD.
An investigation at the scene shows that the motorcycle was driving east on Asheville Highway when the Kia SUV was attempting to pull left into the westbound lanes of Asheville Highway from the Domino's Pizza when the motorcycle struck the driver's side of the SUV, KPD said.
Speed was believed to be a contributing factor and the man's identity is being withheld currently, according to KPD.
