Belew Drug has been a neighbor to many in the Knoxville community for more than 50 years, and now it's being recognized as one of three finalists for a national award.
The Good Neighbor Pharmacy of the Year award recognizes pharmacies that are active members of their communities while offering excellent care.
“We are honored to be recognized as a finalist for the 2018 Good Neighbor Pharmacy of the Year award,” owner David Belew said.
Belew Drug's opioid eduction and diabetic training programs were among the reasons the pharmacy was nominated for the award.
The drugstore is currently developing a program that aims to educate middle and high school students on prescription drug misuse.
