KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A man died after he was hit by a car Friday evening near the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Mary Street. On Monday, authorities identified him as Andrew Quayle, 63.
The Knoxville Police Department said the crash was reported at around 7:45 p.m. and suspects in the crash drove away eastbound. It said that two occupants, a man and a woman, got out of the car before getting back in and driving away.
In a release, police said responders tried to save Quayle's life. However, he was later pronounced dead after being transported from the scene.
Police said it's believed to be either a black SUV or a black crossover.
