KPD identifies man who was fatally shot Saturday after police said he pulled out a gun during a family dispute

KPD said everyone believed to be involved is accounted for at this time.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a domestic shooting that happened just after 8 a.m. on Saturday at a home on Linden Avenue. 

According to KPD, officers were dispatched to the home after a call about a shooting with a victim. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot. The Knoxville Fire Department attempted to save him. but he was pronounced dead at the scene, KPD said.

On Monday, the police department identified him as Matthew Walker, 32, from Knoxville. 

Based on the investigation so far, KPD said it's believed Walker was involved in a domestic dispute with family when he pulled out a gun. Another person inside the house shot him.

There were no other injuries reported. 

KPD's homicide unit is still investigating. No charges have been filed.
