KPD: Person taken to hospital with 'minor injuries' after crash involving uninjured Knoxville police officer

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said a police officer was involved in a crash Tuesday evening that resulted in a person being brought to the hospital for evaluation after getting minor injuries.

The crash involved two cars, including the police officer's. It happened at around 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday on Cumberland Avenue, near 17th Street, according to the police department. The officer was not injured in the crash, KPD said.

It also said that the driver of the other car was the only person in the vehicle. That person was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for evaluation.
