Knoxville Fire Department rescues stuck kitten in World's Fair Park

The fire department made the kitty rescue just hours before kickoff for the Tennessee Vols' second home game of the season.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Your local fire heroes were on kitty patrol today! On Saturday, the Knoxville Fire Department rescued a kitten stuck in a storm drain at World's Fair Park.

The fire department's A Shift responded to a call about a young cat yelping from the drain. Only hours ahead of kickoff for the Tennessee Vols' second home game of the season, the crew was able to remove the grate and save it.

"It may be game day, but the A Shift had to perform Operation Kitty Saver at WFP first. This feline got into a little jam, so HQA shift sprang into action to help." KFD said on Facebook.

It may be game day, but the A Shift had to perform Operation Kitty Saver at WFP first. This feline got into a little jam, so HQ A shift sprang into action to help. Now back to the tail gate and Go Vols!
