KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The time to vote in the Knoxville city general election is now a day away. Just a reminder -- only city residents can take part.
Early voting starts Wednesday, Oct. 18, and continues through Thursday, Nov. 2. Election Day itself is Tuesday, Nov. 7. You can find a list of early voting locations and times on the Knox County Election Commission's website.
Along with the Knoxville municipal judge race, there are four City Council seats open -- three at-large seats, representing the entire city, and North Knoxville's 5th District, which is represented by incumbent Charles Thomas. He is unopposed.
Each office has a four-year term.
There will not be a mayoral race on this ballot because incumbent Mayor Indya Kincannon secured a majority of votes in the August primary elections.
The candidates for city municipal judge are John Rosson, the incumbent, and Tyler Caviness.
The candidate for At-large Seat A is incumbent Lynne Fugate. Cameron Brooks was a candidate but died in early September.
The candidates for At-large Seat B are Debbie Helsley and Bentley Marlow.
The candidates for At-large Seat C are incumbent Amelia Parker and Tim Hill.
You have the option of voting early at multiple centers starting Oct. 18. Voting at the centers generally will be Monday-Saturday.
If you're taking part in this fall's city election, you must produce valid photo identification such as a driver's license.
If you decide to vote on Election Day, you must go to your designated precinct voting site on Nov. 7. You can find your designated voting site by checking your voter registration card or searching your registered address at this link.
