Knoxville boutiques now carrying classier clear bags for game day

One boutique owner says these bags are unlike any other, in that they are all made of genuine leather and high-quality PVC (polyvinylchloride).

Boutiques around Knoxville are offering University of Tennessee fans a more stylish clear bag option for game days this year.

Elissa Wilson, manager of Ta’Vie Boutique, says that the demand for clear bags has increased ever since the clear bag policy came into effect a couple of years ago.

Starting in August 2016, the university implemented the policy requiring each person bringing in a bag to make it a clear, no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches or a one-gallon, clear, resealable plastic storage bag. Fans are also allowed a small clutch purse not larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.

Some of the items banned by the new policy includes backpacks, fanny packs, purses, reusable grocery totes, camera cases, diaper bags, cinch bags, and colored plastic storage bags.

The University of Tennessee is making big changes to what fans can bring into games starting in August 2016.

“There’s really a need for women who want to go to a game and still be stylish while loving the bags they’re carrying. These bags are great because they’re ones that you would want to carry every day, not just to game day,” Wilson said.

Wilson also said that these bags are unlike any other, in that they are all made of genuine leather and high-quality PVC (polyvinylchloride). Because they are made with these materials, fans won’t have to worry about the usual wear and tear of clear bags.

“We really wanted to bring in bags that are going to last you through the years so that you won’t have to replace them every season,” Wilson said.

Ta’Vie Boutique carries the Perceptions brand, which come in five different styles and multiple colors. Many of these NCAA approved clear handbags resemble designer brands such as, Michael Khor’s, Louis Vuitton, and Prada.

Wilson encourages fans to pick up their stylish clear bags as the Vols take on ETSU this Saturday in their first home game of the season.
